The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 pm and sings at the 11:00 traditional service. Anyone who likes to sing is invited to join us, and winter residents are encouraged to sing with us during the months they are here in Florida. In addition to a weekly anthem, the Chancel Choir performs a Christmas and an Easter cantata with strings or brass each year. These works have included:
“Carols and Lullabies” by Conrad Susa
“The Christmas Oratorio” by Camile Saint-Saens
“The Crucifixion” by John Stainer
“The Seven Last Words” by Dubois
“The Peaceable Kingdom” by Randall Thompson
“Messiah” by Handel
“Gloria” by Vivaldi
“Gloria” by Boccherini
“The Christmas Oratorio” (#1-19) by J. S. Bach
“Melodious Accord” by Alice Parker
“Christmas Cantata” by Dan Pinkham
“The Daughter of Jairus” by John Stainer
The Chancel Choir also enjoys singing with The Florida Orchestra Brass Quintet on Palm Sunday each year.
